If I get a photography idea, I tend to just go with it and see if it works. I had driven out to my parent’s place early in the day and the idea just came to me. I think at first I thought, “Man, I wish I had thought to shoot moon-lit snow the day before when you could make a snow man for the op.”The good snow we had turned powdery with the cold air in place. Then I thought, “What if I could somehow make a Christmas tree with lights in the middle of nowhere in the hills behind their place.” Thought, “This shouldn’t be too hard.” I have power inverters for chasing in my car. I just needed a power supply for it and some Christmas lights.
Not that I wanted to mess with taking out a car battery and lugging it to wherever, it was the power supply that kept coming up. Thought, “Well I know that will work.” My dad was there this same day and thought I could just use the one out of their van that really never runs anymore. It just needed charged. So we took that out and …
