Sigma Launches 4 New Lenses

Sigma has unveiled four new lenses – three of which are a refresh of existing models and one lens is entirely new.

The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC HSM is designed for APS-C format DSLRs and will be available in Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts. This lens replaces the prior model that was introduced in 2005. The new lens features 9 elements in eight groups, as well as rounded aperture blades. Minimum focus distance is 11.8-inches.

The new 30mm f/1.4 lens has an optimized AF algorithm and rear focusing system. It is also compatible with Sigma’s USB dock that allows firmware updates and focus adjustments.


Sigma updated the 19mm f/2.8 DN and 30mm f/2.8 DN lenses with a new pair for Micro Four Thirds and Sony NEX E-Mount cameras.


Both lenses have been redesigned to enhance optical performance, which should make a couple of nice little lenses even better – assuming Sigma keeps the price near the $199 price point of the prior models. (There’s no word on pricing yet for these new lenses.)


Finally, Sigma introduced a new 60mm f/2.8 DN lens for Micro Four Thirds and Sony NEX E-Mount cameras. The new lens adds to the 19mm and 30mm lenses for a …
