digiCamControl Lets You Tether Your Nikon Camera to Your Windows Computer

This is a brief excerpt from thePhoBlographer

Freeware is all the rage these days–and digiCamControl was born out of a need to find a way to tether a camera to a computer but not wanting to pay for software. As such, it is a free program available for download to anyone that wants to do tethered shooting with their Nikon DSLR. At the moment, it is an open C# based program that has been around for about a year but now has the first stable release candidate for users.

We previously saw tethering done to a tablet with a Windows interface, and we still have to recommend that you do this with an actual computer instead.

The roundup of main features is after the jump.

Control you camera remotely from your computer via USB.

See the camera live view image on the computer display.

Trigger image capture via release button on camera body or remotely from your computer.

Handhold the camera, shoot, and have the resulting images displayed on the computer monitor.

Bracketing with an arbitrary shutter speed or exposure value.

Use the advanced interval meter to create a series of time-lapse images and generate time-lapse video.

Manage multiple profiles.

Histogram & photo metadata view.
