Digital Rebellion has a new iPad/iPhone app called CinePlay, and it looks very interesting. It’s a professional video review player for H.264 video, that includes timecode overlays, safe area overlays, masking, and the ability to sync with their Cut Notes app. You save full-resolution frame grabs to your Camera Roll, and iPad users can add markers during playback for export later (depending on your NLE, this may require going through Cut Notes Marker Import).
There are a number of ways to import video to the app, but the method that stood out to me was integration with Dropbox. Very cool. I can see this being a painless way for directors and producers to review dailies and provide timecode-accurate editing feedback.
