The First Video Review of the Upcoming $10K+ Canon 200-400mm f/4L IS 1.4x

This is a brief excerpt from PetaPixel

Buzz around the upcoming Canon 200-400mm f/4L IS 1.4x is heating up. Australian photographer Joshua Holko recently had the opportunity to play around with a pre-production version of the lens, and released this 7-minute video review that offers a look at the lens in action.

As we’ve reported in the past, the lens includes a built-in 1.4x teleconverter, which appears as a strange bump on the side of the lens:

The teleconverter effectively turns the lens from a 200-400mm f/4 into a 280-560mm f/5.6 at the flip of a switch.

New photographs of the lens have been appearing as of late. Canon Singapore published one on its Facebook page earlier this year:

The lens will reportedly cost around $11,000 when it’s released. While exact details haven’t yet been announced, signs seem point to it being unveiled sometime this year.
