In a never ending search for new revenue, Microsoft has decided to enter the coffee market with an emphasis on photography. What do geeks tend to drink most in the morning? Coffee! Microsoft’s plan is to be the one stop shop for geeks. With xBox, tablet PCs and corporate PCs, it was the next logical step for the tech giant. And it’s too beautiful for Instagram!
Microsoft sent us a sample to test shoot along with their coffee brewing peripherals. Occasionally, the coffee does stop brewing for no apparent reason and I have to restart. And to get that perfect coffee moment, I need to set my lights back up totally different. Plus, my filter randomly turns blue. I started calling it the BBOD or “Blue Brew of Death”. At this point the coffee had a critical error and has to be poured out–which also strangely affects my camera and gives it card errors. When I asked Microsoft tech support about this they asked if I used a new coffee brewer and to try it again with the old coffee brewer. If that did not work use a different coffee scoop.
